Prisoner considered dangerous escapes from Johnson County work release facility
Update: Mansfield was brought back into custody on June 4, 2025.
A man considered dangerous escaped from a Johnson County work release facility Wednesday, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Anthony Mansfield, 36, was serving an eight-month sentence for criminal damage to property when he did not return to the facility or report to his job Wednesday, according to a news release.
Mansfield was reported missing when he could not be found in a minimum-security unit at the Adult Residential Center in New Century Wednesday. He was placed on escape status at 10 p.m.
Mansfield’s escape does not impact the security or operations of the facility, the Department of Corrections said in a news release.
Mansfield is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighs 185 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with black designs, a long black sleeve undershirt, brown boots, brown baseball hat and stonewashed jeans.
He is considered dangerous.
