This comedian sold out shows around the world. Now he’s coming to Kansas City

A popular comedian is adding more cities to his worldwide tour after unprecedented demand for tickets, including a stop in Kansas City this summer.

Comedian Shane Gillis announced the extension Tuesday, May 13, and presale access begins Wednesday, May 14, for his show July 19 at T-Mobile Center.

The 37-year-old has set all-time ticket sales records at six arenas throughout his tour, selling out many venues like Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and playing each arena’s largest comedy show of all time, breaking records previously set by the likes of superstar comedian Kevin Hart, according to a press release.

The seating chart shows his live performance is in the round, meaning he’s in the center of the arena and fans are seated all around him. It’s a similar setup to what country singer Zach Bryan used when he set T-Mobile Center’s all-time attendance record with 19,659 fans on Aug. 30, 2023.

Fans can get presale tickets for the KC show on AXS at 10 a.m. Wednesday, using the presale code “SGLIVE.” General fan tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16.

The Pennsylvania-born comedian starred in the 2025 Super Bowl ad campaign for Bud Light alongside NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and singer Post Malone, who will be in Missouri twice in 2025.

He’s also hosted the sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” twice, most recently in March. He’d previously been fired from the show in 2019 after controversial comments surfaced from a 2018 episode on his podcast, “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast,” with Matt McCusker, where he used an anti-Asian slur.

He’s apologized for his comments to “SNL” cast member Bowen Yang, who was hired alongside Gillis in 2019 and is now a prominent Asian American actor. Gillis has offered to apologize “to anyone who’s actually offended by anything I’ve said,” he said in a statement.

Gillis’ comedy sitcom “Tires,” begins its second season June 5 on Netflix.
