Motorcyclist dies after crashing into car in Kansas City, Kansas

A motorcyclist died after crashing into a vehicle on Merriam Lane Sunday evening in Kansas City, Kansas, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a crash shortly after 6:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Merriam Lane, said Officer T.J. Tomasic with the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was headed west when he passed a vehicle in front of him. The motorcyclist then collided with an eastbound vehicle as it turned left onto South 18th Street, Tomasic said.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the fatal crash.
