Gracie Hunt causes stir at White House Correspondents’ Dinner with new beau
At an annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner lacking its usual Hollywood star power, Gracie Hunt grabbed attention with a new boyfriend at the Fox News table on Saturday.
The dinner, known in D.C. as “nerd prom,” raises money for journalism scholarships and is typically packed with movers and shakers — including the president — and hosted by a comedian.
But there was no joking around this year, already marked by acrimony between the media and the White House.
The association dumped its scheduled host, comedian Amber Ruffin, after she referred to the Trump administration as “kind of a bunch of murderers” on a podcast last month. And by most accounts, this year’s event, low on celebrity attendees, lacked its usual glitter. (President Donald Trump did not attend.)
But Hunt — daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his wife, Tavia Hunt — brought her usual flair, walking the red carpet at the Washington Hilton in a Chiefs-red gown.
And headlines from outlets as disparate as the British tabloid, The Daily Mail and Sports Illustrated, commented on her date.
Last year Hunt dated North Carolina native and real estate broker Cody Keith, who played football in college. But he’s been scrubbed from her social media accounts.
She introduced a new beau on Instagram earlier this month with photos of them hugging at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. She wrote: “After meeting 7.5 years ago in this place… all along there was some invisible string.”
Some folks took the backdrop to be a hint that somehow they have the Chiefs in common.
But she hasn’t publicly revealed his name, even though he escorted her to Saturday’s dinner. For now, he has been dubbed “mystery man.”
“Attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was truly an unforgettable honor. Thank you to @FoxNews for the incredible opportunity,” Hunt wrote on her Instagram, where she posted photos from the dinner and places around D.C. she visited while in town.
Hunt has become a familiar face on Fox during the football season.
