A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Kansas City returned mid-flight to Atlanta’s airport after a “cabin pressurization” issue Wednesday evening, the airline said in a statement.

Delta flight 1660 departed at 6:54 p.m. from Harstfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and was headed to Kansas City International Airport when the issue occurred.

Delta said the flight crew followed procedures and training to return to Atlanta, arriving at the gate at 8:13 p.m. Oxygen masks did not deploy in the cabin.

Delta said the regularly scheduled flight between the two cities had 117 passengers, two pilots, and four flight attendants.

Maintenance workers were evaluating the aircraft, a Boeing 737-900ER, while airport employees arranged meals, beverages and snacks for the customers, Delta said.

The flight was rescheduled on another aircraft. It departed Atlanta shortly before 10 p.m. and arrived in Kansas City shortly after 11 p.m.
