Officials with the Miami County Sheriff’s Department say that a missing Olathe man was spotted earlier this week.

Deputies received a tip Wednesday leading them to the area of 247th Street and Ridgeview Road that led them to believe missing man Jordan Yust was in the area Sunday or Monday, according to a Facebook post.

Yust, 38, was last seen around 11 a.m. March 3 driving a Silver Honda Odyssey with Kansas plate 056RRA leaving the area of 14100 Block of West 141st Place, according to Olathe Police Department community outreach officer Sean Wilkes.

“We continue to urge the public to review any available dash camera footage, home or business surveillance, deer blinds, or trail cameras for potential clues regarding Jordan’s whereabouts,” the Facebook post said.

Yust was labeled as endangered due to statements of self harm, according to a release. He is 5’7” and around 175 pounds, with a brown beard and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green Columbia coat and blue jeans.

Yust is normally bald, but authorities said his head hair and beard may have grown since he was last seen.

The search for Yust expanded over the weekend after several reported sightings.

His vehicle was found initially around 5:40 p.m. March 3 on Highway 69, just north of 247th Street. Around 7:30 p.m., someone matching his description was seen near 247th and Jingo Road, according to a social media post.

On Friday, someone matching Yust’s description was seen near 223rd Street and Antioch and again walking north in the southbound ditch of Highway 169, north of 255th Street, according to the post. Despite a search of the area, he was not located.

Another report was filed Sunday a little further north.

According to Wednesday’s post, specialized canines were used in the search on 169 Highway, north of 255th Street, where he was spotted Friday. Officials say they found evidence suggesting that man spotted was Yust.

As of Wednesday afternoon, over $11,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe set up to provide support for his wife and three kids as the search continues.

“Jordan and his wife, Beth, have a wonderful village surrounding them, and many are seeking ways to help their family. One significant, immediate way to help would be to provide financial support for Beth and their three young children,” the post said.

Anyone with helpful footage is asked to reach out to Olathe Police at (913) 971-6363 or the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-8477. Video footage can be sent to mkelly@sheriffmiamicountyks.gov.
