A construction truck crashed into the office building of a structural engineering firm in midtown Kansas City Monday afternoon, temporarily stalling traffic near Country Club Plaza.

The crash took place at the offices of Campbell Bob D and Company Structural Engineers in the 4000 block of Belleview Avenue. A cement mixer truck hit an exterior wall, causing visible damage but not breaking all the way through.

The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the crash around 3:14 p.m., department data shows. Emergency responders were on scene for about six minutes and were not made aware of any injuries, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins, a KCFD spokesperson.

The road began to clear to passing vehicles around 3:35 p.m., according to department data.

The cement truck involved in the accident was operated by JD Brown Concrete Construction, based in Pleasant Hill. At the time of the crash, a construction project had been ongoing across the street.
