A biker died after they ran off a road and were ejected from their motorcycle in Kansas City, police said in a crash report.

Officers responded just after midnight to a fatal crash at Northeast Chouteau Trafficway and Northeast Russell Road, police said. A preliminary investigation shows that an orange Harley Davidson motorcycle drove north on Chouteau Trafficway.

Just north of Northeast Russel Road, the Harley ran off the road to the right, traveled up over the curb and struck a metal light pole, according to the crash report.

The Harley driver was completely ejected off the motorcycle, police said. Paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The crash is Kansas City’s ninth traffic fatality of 2025, said Capt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman with the Kansas City Police Department, said in an email. At this time last year, the city had recorded 20 traffic deaths, Becchina said.
