A Kansas City area bowling alley is responsible for a man adding $222,000 to his bank account. But it took a few days for him to realize it.

The man bought a Missouri Lottery ticket in January at Premier Bowling & Recreation Center, 11400 E. Route 350 in Raytown. A few days later, his friend called him and told him to check his ticket because he knew that someone had won the jackpot at the place he usually buys his tickets.

The winner’s friend knew the Show Me Cash lottery ticket game on the Jan. 23 drawing started with a 9, which matched one of the numbers on his ticket. It turns out the ticket he bought on a whim while bowling matched all five numbers drawn — 9, 23, 32, 34 and 37 — to win the $222,000 jackpot prize.

“I told him I would take a look, and that’s when I realized I had all the winning numbers,” the winner told theMissouri Lottery. “I like playing the Missouri Draw Games. And this time it actually hit, and I was shocked.”

Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until there is a winner. The game costs $1 to play, and you play the game by selecting one set of five different numbers between 1 and 39 and marking them on a playslip.
