This popular folk band is coming to Kansas City this summer. Tickets go on sale soon
One of the most popular bands in the world is returning to Kansas City, just a few months after their latest album debuts Friday, Feb. 14.
The Lumineers, the New Jersey-based folk band who have sold over 5 million albums since their 2012 self-titled debut and currently have over 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, are bringing the Automatic World Tour to T-Mobile Center on Saturday, July 26. The tour’s name is also the same as their newest album.
Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, on AXS’ website. Fans can register for presale access Tuesday, Feb. 18, on the band’s tour website by selecting “sign up” by Kansas City’s tour date. Joining The Lumineers in Kansas City is Hippo Campus, an indie rock band based out of Minneapolis.
The band was formed in the East Coast by lead singer Wesley Schultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites in 2005 and the duo later moved to Denver in 2009, where they started to see success and added additional members to the band. The Lumineers’ first single, “Ho Hey,” released at the end of 2011 and continues to be one of their most popular songs with over a billion streams on Spotify.
Other hits from the band include “Stubborn Love,” “Ophelia,” “Angela” and “Cleopatra,” which fans will most likely hear during their tour, along with songs from their new album and other fan favorites.
The tour takes the band throughout the United States and worldwide, with stops in Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia, Seattle and St. Louis stateside and Berlin, Luxembourg, Madrid, Munich, Toronto and Vienna across the globe.
The Lumineers last performed in Kansas City on Aug. 13, 2022, at the T-Mobile Center. They also performed at the KC Live! Block across the street in 2016.
