No more PG-13 jokes. This gas station is renaming its Missouri locations
The name of the gas station Kum & Go has come and gone in Missouri, according to the owners.
Maverik, a Utah-based convenience store chain, acquired Kum & Go in 2023 and is working to rebrand all stores to share the same name. In Missouri, where the chain has 57 stores, the rebranding process is set to begin in March.
The company said customers can expect brief store closures with changes inside and outside the stores, according to a press release. Springfield-based news station KOLR reported that permits for signage for the store’s nearby locations have been submitted, so visitors are likely going to see changes happen soon.
Kansas City residents won’t see the changes as they’re happening unless they’re traveling. The closest Kum & Go to Kansas City is in Bethany, 87 miles north of the city. Springfield has the most locations in the state with 33.
Kum & Go also has over 300 locations spread across 12 states in the middle of the country, including Arkansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. The chain was founded in Iowa in 1959, where it still has the most locations, with 97 scattered throughout the state.
