Another winter storm forecast to pack a punch with heavy snowfall is headed for Kansas City overnight Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The potential for heavy snow and ice blanketing roads is prompting local school districts to take early precautions for Wednesday. Travel may prove difficult, according to state and local authorities.

Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol warned drivers to take extra precautions Wednesday, and avoid or postpone travel if possible. Those who have to get out should be prepared for extended delays and ensure their vehicles are winter ready, the highway patrol said on X.

Below is a list of schools that have announced closures, late starts and virtual learning days for Wednesday. The Star will update this list as information comes available.
