Tech N9ne and KC Symphony reunite taking on Philadelphia Orchestra with “Red Kingdom”
In a show of Chiefs pride, the Kansas City Symphony teamed up with local hip-hop artist Tech N9ne to boldly answer a musical challenge after the Philadelphia Orchestra shared a video of their musicians performing “Fly Eagles, Fly” on X.
On January 25, in anticipation of the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Orchestra shared a video of their performance of the Eagles’ fight song. In response, the Kansas City Symphony wasn’t about to be outdone, so they created their reply featuring one of Kansas City’s most iconic rap artists, Tech N9ne, backed up by their classical music. Take that Philly.
“The KC Symphony hit up Strange and said The Philadelphia Orchestra posted them playing Fly Eagles, Fly and tagged KC Symphony like in challenge mode,” said Tech N9ne. “I accepted and we did it all in one day on Sunday. It makes me feel accomplished and extremely grateful.”
Tech, who teamed up with the Kansas City Symphony last year for a groundbreaking concert, reunited with them this week to perform “Red Kingdom,” a song that has become an anthem for the Chiefs.
The Tech video, shared on Tuesday, was filmed just a day before Tech was scheduled to head to New Orleans for his annual Super Bowl trip. Despite his tight schedule, the rapper said he made sure to carve out time to answer the call and step up with his Chiefs pride.
“They (The Kansas City Symphony) said they wanted me to be super competitive and we nailed it man,” said Tech. “To me they (Philadelphia Orchestra) drew first blood and we ended it.”
