Christmas came a few days early this year for a group of breast cancer patients, courtesy of Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu.

He invited them to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for an event and tour on Friday — they got to visit the players’ locker room — and then to VIP treatment at the game Saturday.

This is a cause close to his heart: his mother is a breast cancer survivor.

“Merry Chiefsmas to me!” one of the guests, Alex Owens, wrote on Instagram Friday.

“Two years ago to the day I felt a lump & today I got to hang out with 11 other breast cancer survivors at Arrowhead Stadium. A HUGE THANK YOU to @comenihu@chiefs & @kucancercenter @kumedcenter @ljk514 @eegideon for this amazing afternoon at @gehafield.

“We got to see the stadium like never before, got to meet Charles who is the sweetest soul and who’s Mom is a breast cancer survivor, and got to meet other breast cancer survivors and thrivers.

“It was a super emotional and beautiful day.”

Omenihu and others posted photos and videos on Instagram stories showing the group’s visit to Arrowhead Friday.

The 27-year-old Houston native, who played against his former team on Saturday, has used his platform of being an NFL player to support breast cancer awareness and causes since he started playing in 2019.

He continues to promote the cause in Texas, where in October he supported a wellness retreat for 13 cancer patients that included a shopping trip to Lululemon, yoga and lunch.

He partners with Legacy Philanthropy, a group that helps professional athletes across the country promote their charitable causes. Omenihu has treated other Kansas City breast cancer patients to VIP experiences at Arrowhead, gifting them sideline passes and pre-game meet-and-greets.

“I gotta sneak in a reminder to CHECK YOURSELF regularly ...” Owens reminded her Instagram followers. ”So excited to go to my very first regular season Chiefs game tomorrow! Watch for me on the jumbotron!”
