Police are launching a death investigation after a missing Kansas City man was found dead Saturday.

Brice Gabbert, 45, was found dead near Gladstone Boulevard and North Brighton Avenue, police said, after a news release announced he was missing Friday.

In the release, Kansas City Police said Brice had last been seen around 2 p.m. July 12 near Independence Avenue and Prospect Avenue when he left work on foot. His family was concerned for his safety and well being.

Police had asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact 911 immediately or the KCPD Missing Persons Unit at 816-234-5043.

Capt. Jake Becchina, a spokesperson with KCPD, said there does not appear to be any signs of foul play.

“The medical examiner will make the final determination of the cause and manner of death,” he said.
