Driver dies after crashing into Independence business Saturday morning: Police

One person died after they crashed into a business early Saturday morning, Independence police said.

Around 4:45 a.m. a Nissan Altima was traveling south on Noland Road approaching 35th Street when the driver lost control and went off the road, crashing into a Sonic Drive-In.

Officers patrolling the area noticed the crash shortly after it happened and responded to the scene.

Paramedics attempted life-saving efforts, but the driver died from their injuries, police said.

Police did not provide an age or gender of the victim Saturday.

No other information was available and an investigation is ongoing.
