Pedestrian injured after running through yard into side of semi-truck in Kansas City

A pedestrian was critically injured after running into a semi-truck early Monday in Kansas City.

Officers responded to the crash around 8:50 a.m. in the area Gardner and North Agnes avenues, according to Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department.

A pedestrian ran out of a yard and into the side of a gray semi-truck traveling westbound on Gardner, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and is in stable condition. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
