Ed Sheeran reveals baby’s sex for couple at Kansas City concert. The crowd loves it
Update: Because of a mistake made by a family member, Ed Sheeran announced that two of his fans are having a girl when they are actually expecting a boy, according to Fox4. The couple reportedly did not learn of the relative’s mistake until after the concert.
Girl dad Ed Sheeran made two fans especially happy during his Kansas City concert Saturday night by reading from the stage at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to reveal the sex of their baby.
“I will go back to singing ‘Perfect,’ but I feel like this is the first time sort of thing,” Sheeran said as he pulled a piece of paper from an envelope. He posted the moment, and the couple’s reaction, to his Instagram account.
“It’s a girl!” he exclaimed as the couple, standing near the stage, hugged.
“Can I just say, as the father of two daughters, it’s very awesome,” Sheeran said. “It’s very awesome. Congratulations.”
Sheeran noted on Instagram that it was his “first gender reveal.”
Fans were quick to post the moment on social media, clips that showed the crowd exploding into cheers. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, who know a thing or two about such reveals themselves, were at the concert.
Last summer when they revealed their second child was a boy, the Super Bowl MVP jumped into a swimming pool with his clothes on.
