The annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend fundraiser for Children’s Mercy is super-charged this year — the biggest slate of celebrity guests ever, including a couple of guys fresh off a Super Bowl victory who know how to command a stage.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce return along with teammate Creed Humphrey and former teammate Dustin Colquitt. And first-time guests include Finn Wolfhard of “Stranger Things” and singer Darius Rucker.
Here’s the scoop on the two-day event.
Who are the hometown hosts?
Big Slick’s famous founders and hosts are Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, David Koechner and, new this year, Heidi Gardner. The Kansas City-born “Saturday Night Live” cast member is the first woman to co-host.
Big Slick events
▪ The Big Slick Celebrity Classic softball game will be played at 5 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Kauffman Stadium before the Royals play the Colorado Rockies. Anyone with a game ticket can watch.
▪ The Big Slick Party & Show is the weekend’s main event at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 3. Tickets are $75-$125 for standard lower level and $375 for upgraded seats with Founders Club access including open bar. Tickets are at bigslickkc.org and T-MobileCenter.com.
