Two people dead following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Kansas City, police say

Two people died following a crash Wednesday night in Kansas City.

Officers responded just before 9 p.m. to the two-vehicle collision in the area of Northwest 68th Street and North Liberty Street.

A blue BMW was traveling at a high speed on 68th, when it struck the right side of a grey Toyota traveling west and turning south on Liberty.

The impact pushed the Toyota off the road and into a chainlink fence.

The Toyota driver and passenger were taken to a hospital. Officials pronounced the passenger dead shortly after she arrived. The driver had life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead from his injuries at 12:15 a.m. Thursday.

At the scene, the BMW driver refused medical treatment.
