Firefighters battled an early morning blaze and hazardous materials situation at a Kansas City asphalt manufacture and contractor, according to the PulsePoint app.

Firefighters with the Kansas City Fire Department responded shortly after 3 a.m. to the fire at Vance Brothers Inc., at 52nd Street and Brighton Avenue.

A dispatcher advised firefighters en route that there reportedly was a tank full of diesel that was on fire and was threatening other tanks, according to audio captured by Broadcastify.com.

The first crews to arrive reported that there was a large fire. A fire commander later told dispatchers that the fire involved a smaller tank.

Further details were not immediately available.
