A motor scooter driver was critically injured Saturday night after hitting another vehicle and being ejected near a Kansas City shopping center, according to police.

The driver of a green PGO Scooter was traveling east at a high speed on Red Bridge Road around 10:15 p.m. when a black Dodge Caravan made a left turn into the Red Bridge Shopping Center and was hit by the motor scooter, police said.

After the collision, the driver was ejected from the motor scooter, and he hit the hood and windshield of the Dodge before falling to the ground. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but is in stable condition, police said.

The Dodge driver was not injured.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
