Police identified the woman who was fatally struck by a dump truck on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Zona Rosa Shopping Center.

Abigail Stiner, 24, of Kansas City died after the dump truck hit her around noon when she tried to cross the road near Northwest 87th Street and Northwest Prairie View Road, police said.

The truck driver, who was uninjured, told police he didn’t see Stiner but felt a bump and exited his vehicle, police said. He found Stiner underneath the vehicle, police said.

Later, a handful of people gathered with flowers and hugged each other as they entered the Old Navy, which temporarily closed on Wednesday.

Employees and visitors declined to speak with The Star, but one person said Stiner was a manager at the location.
