Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle and pinned against hotel in Lee’s Summit

Update: The victim was identified Thursday by police as 21-year-old Sandrea N. Sipple, of Kansas City, Kansas.

A person was killed Wednesday after she was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a Lee’s Summit hotel.

Police in Lee’s Summit were dispatched around 7:15 p.m. to the Fairfield Inn at 1301 NE Windsor Drive, Officer Carmen Spaeth said in a news release.

Officers determined that a driver had struck a pedestrian standing beside the hotel, pinning her against the building. She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, Spaeth said.

The driver did not appear to know the victim.

The driver cooperated with the investigation and the building was assessed for structural damage.
