One person injured in overnight fire at Independence apartment complex
A fire at an Independence apartment complex left one person injured Sunday evening, officials said.
Fire crews responded at 8:23 p.m. to a residential fire in the 600 block of North Spring Lake Drive, according to the city.
They found smoke showing from a building in the apartment complex.
One person was rescued from the fire. The victim suffered injuries, authorities said, and was treated at the scene.
No other victims were identified.
The blaze was under control by 8:45 p.m., authorities said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
