It took several hours, and several humans, but 11 ducklings in Overland Park have been safely returned home.

A Facebook post, detailing the ducklings adventure over a spillway on Friday, garnered some attention thanks to pictures of the fluffy ducks.

“There once was a family of ducklings that decided to practice their swimming lessons at South Lake Park, when all of a sudden, they swam into the overflow spillway,” the post began.

Thankfully, the story had a happy ending.

Overland Park Parks and Animal Control were called to the scene. Several hours later they successfully saved all 11 ducklings.

“Thanks to staff, they’ll all live happily ever after!” the post concluded.
