Man killed in Kansas City crash after car leaves road, flips multiple times
A crash Friday morning in the Northland left one man dead after he was ejected from his car, police said.
The crash occurred around 3:42 a.m. on northbound U.S. 169 and Shoal Creek Parkway, Sgt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman with the Kansas City Police Department, said in an email.
Police said a silver Dodge Caliber was heading north on U.S. 169 and took the exit for Shoal Creek Parkway when the driver lost control from going too fast.
The car struck the guardrail, went off the roadway, traveled down the embankment and flipped over multiple times, Becchina said.
The driver, the only occupant, was not wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating if the victim was impaired.
