Wyandotte County Sheriff’s patrol car involved in crash; deputy was responding to call

A Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle was involved in a car crash while responding to an emergency call, closing down parts of Parallel for multiple hours on Saturday.

At 12:18 p.m., the deputy driving the patrol car was called to respond to a shooting. The crash occurred on 90th and Parallel Parkway while the deputy vehicle’s lights and sirens were on. Both the civilian and deputy were taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Areas of Parallel Parkway were “closed for several hours, and is now open for public use,” according to the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police department is investigating the crash.
