8-year-old boy killed in accidental shooting Saturday in Independence
An 8-year-old boy died in an accidental shooting in Independence, police said Saturday.
Independence police officers responded Saturday morning to a shooting in the 1200 block of North Liberty, the department posted at 7:40 a.m. on social media.
A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting was accidental.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the department updated the post, announcing that the boy had died.
