Ramp from I-670 to I-35 on west side of KC’s downtown loop to close for bridge repair

The ramp that takes eastbound Interstate 670 traffic to southbound Interstate 35 on the west side of Kansas City’s downtown loop will be closed Tuesday, according to a spokeswoman with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Crews will close the ramp from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday so they can make repairs to the Summit Street bridge that crosses over I-670, said Lairyn McGregor, a spokeswoman for MoDOT’s Kansas City District.

Drivers will need to find alternative routes around the closure. They are urged to be patient and use the zipper merge, a process where drivers use all lanes up to the merge point, where they take turns merging.
