Worlds of Fun will reopen in June with COVID-19 safety plan. Here’s what you can expect
Kansas City’s decades-old theme park will soon reopen to guests. But the park experience will be a little different.
When Worlds of Fun reopens on June 22, guests and staff will see several changes to accommodate new safety measures as part of a “coronavirus reopening plan,” the business announced on its website.
All guests must schedule their visits ahead of time through the website of app. This step is in place to manage park capacity, Park spokesman Tony Clark said in an informational video.
The mobile app is then required for at least one member of each visiting group. The park is asking that guests turn on their location services feature within the app. The park said they will use this to share “real-time updates” with park-goers, according to the website.
Every visitor must fill out a pre-visit health screening on the app. Guests will also have their temperatures checked when they arrive at the park’s entrance.
Once inside the park, all visitors are required to wear masks, the website says.
The park is also encouraging social distancing in lines, and staff will clean high-traffic and high-touch areas more frequently.
Hand sanitizing stations will also be scattered through the park.
Seventy-three new coronavirus cases were reported Monday in the Kansas City metropolitan area, bringing the total number of metro area cases to more than 5,000 with 200 deaths.
