Longtime Crossroads restaurant, bar, event space quietly closes: ‘It’s a tough time’
Crossroads Japanese sushi grill Nara has closed.
Landlord Brad Nicholson said the tenant wanted to cease operations so the lease was resolved to the “mutual satisfaction of the parties.”
“It’s a tough time. I’m very sad to see them go after 14 years,” Nicholson said. “I ate there on many occasions and they had a great staff.”
Nara owner Casey Adams couldn’t be reached for comment.
He opened the restaurant at 1617 Main St. in 2006.
It was spread over the three levels of the 16,000-square-foot building — restaurant and kitchen on the main floor, event space and prep kitchen on the top floor, and restrooms and prep kitchen on the bottom level. It also had a patio and was on the streetcar line.
Menu items included Burmese chicken curry, Mongolian chicken, sushi rolls, sashimi, and Pad Thai.
