Medical condition may have preceded man’s death in Overland Park crash, police say

A Shawnee man who died after a single-vehicle crash in Overland Park Sunday morning might have suffered a medical condition before the wreck, police said Monday.

The victim of the crash was identified as Tony J. Lee Sr. of Shawnee, Overland Park police said.

The crash occurred about 7:20 a.m. Sunday as Lee was headed south in the 7400 block of Frontage Road. His vehicle struck a curb and came to rest in the 9300 block of West 75th Street. The vehicle didn’t strike any other vehicles or structures in area, police said.

Emergency medical workers took Lee to a hospital where he later died.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Overland Park Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit at 913-895-6411.
