KCK woman killed, two others injured in I-670 crash involving wrong-way driver

A Kansas City, Kansas, woman was killed Saturday in a head-on crash on an interstate ramp.

The two-vehicle wreck was reported at 6:09 a.m. on the westbound ramp of Interstate 670 from I-35.

An Acura and a Chevrolet collided about halfway down the ramp, the Kansas City Police Department said.

The Acura’s two occupants were transported to a hospital. The passenger died shortly after arrival. The male driver was listed in critical condition.

The Chevrolet’s driver had serious injuries.

Police said there had been reports that a driver was heading the wrong way on I-670 prior to the crash, but they are still determining which car that was.

The ramp reopened about 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
