Kansas City cyclist who was struck by vehicle on Christmas Eve has died

A Kansas City man who was struck by a vehicle on Christmas Eve has died.

Pablo Sanders died Monday afternoon, according to an update on a GoFundMe page that is raising money for his funeral expenses.

On Dec. 24, Sanders was crossing the intersection at Southwest Trafficway and Valentine Road on his bike when he was struck by a vehicle.

He suffered life-threatening head injuries.

The driver remained at the scene, and alcohol was not a factor, Kansas City police said.

Sanders was active in the cycling community, and hundreds of comments have been posted on social media since he was injured.

A memorial ride Wednesday has been organized in Sanders’ honor, according to a Facebook post.
