One injured in wreck on I-70 after semi turns over on westbound lanes

One person was injured Tuesday when a semi-truck without a trailer overturned on Interstate 70 near 18th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, according to fire officials.

The wreck was reported about 2 p.m. and the left two lanes of westbound I-70 were temporarily closed. The lanes were reopened by 3:15 p.m.

It was unclear why the truck wrecked, said Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department spokesman Assistant Chief Morris Letcher. The crash damaged the median wall of the highway.

One person was transported to a hospital. Their condition was not immediately known, Letcher said.
