Two killed, one injured in Grain Valley wreck; police say speed may have been factor

Two people were killed in a wreck near Old U.S. 40 Highway in Grain Valley early Friday morning, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson County deputies responded to the scene half a mile east of AA Highway around 4 a.m., according to a post on Twitter.

A male and female passenger were each found dead at the scene and the driver of the car had life threatening injuries, the post said.

Police say speed appears to have contributed to the crash.
