63-year-old woman struck by car while crossing street in KC Thursday afternoon

Kansas City police were investigating after a 63-year-old woman was struck by a car Thursday afternoon at Linwood Boulevard and Poplar Avenue.

Police were called to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian around 3:40 p.m.

According to a statement from police, a westbound car struck the woman, who was crossing the road from south to north.

The woman was taken to a hospital and was last reported to be in critical condition Thursday night, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and provided a statement to police. The driver was released pending further investigation.
