Man in wheelchair found dead in Brush Creek was 72-year-old KC resident: KCPD

Kansas City police have identified a 72-year-old man who was found dead Wednesday in a wheelchair in several feet of water in Brush Creek.

Police identified the man as Clyde C. Betts of Kansas City.

Police have not released the cause of death but said there was no evidence of foul play. Betts was found just before 3 p.m. in water near Brush Creek and Emanuel Cleaver II boulevards.

Betts was a resident of Paraclete Manor Apartments, located nearby at 47th Street and Prospect Avenue. An officer worker at the apartment building declined to comment about incident.
