Authorities identify man found dead after fatal fire in rural Peculiar

The Jackson County Medical Examiner has released the name of a man who died in a fatal house fire in rural Peculiar on Monday.

The body of Charles Scott Ensor, 57, was found after emergency crews responded to a report of a fire Monday afternoon in rural Peculiar.

Ensor lived in the the single-story home, which was engulfed in smoke and flames when crews arrived. He was the only person in the house at the time of the fire.

An official cause of death will take several weeks to determine, authorities said. The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office is also investigation the fire.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
