The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Missouri jumped 14% Monday, surpassing 1,000 cases, Missouri health officials said.

The number of COVID-19 cases stands at 1,031, according to updated statistics released Monday afternoon. That’s an increase in 128 cases from Sunday.

The state also reported another death, the first in Lafayette County, related to coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 13. There have been three deaths reported in Greene County, two each in St. Charles and St. Louis counties and one each in Boone, Camden, Henry and Jackson counties and the city of St. Louis.

In the U.S., there are more than 156,930 COVID-19 cases with 2,880 deaths related to the disease, according to the latest statistics from Johns Hopkins University.
