Second coronavirus death reported in Johnson County, fifth in Kansas
A Johnson County woman in her 90s died from the new coronavirus, county health officials announced Saturday.
The woman, who is the fifth person in the state and second in the county to die from the virus, had underlying health conditions according to Johnson County health department spokeswoman Barbara Mitchell.
Eighty-two people in the county have tested positive for the virus out of 928 tested. There are 262 positive cases statewide.
The first death in the county, a man in his 70s, was reported last week.
In Missouri, 10 deaths have been reported from the virus.
