Officials report Missouri’s 10th coronavirus linked death in St. Charles County Friday
Missouri’s 10th COVID-19 related death was reported by St. Charles County officials Friday.
Details about the death, the second in the county, were not immediately available.
At least 670 people in Missouri have been infected with the new coronavirus since the first case was reported in the state on March 7.
Ten people, including the most recent St. Charles patient, have died from the disease.
An 11th death was linked to the virus after the Friday death of a woman in her 90s at a Springfield nursing home where three other residents had died.
Her death is not part of the state’s tally because it was described as “epi-linked,” which refers to illness in an individual that has not been confirmed by a lab test. But a connection to another case and symptoms are determined to be evidence of COVID-19, the health department said.
The virus has infected more than 104,000 people and killed more than 1,700 nationwide according to a database maintained by Johns Hopkins University in New York.
