First case of coronavirus in Cass County reported, eighth case in Missouri

Missouri has eight cases of the new coronavirus with the latest case being reported Monday in Cass County.

The individual, in Drexel, is in self-isolation, the Cass County Health Department said in a news release.

The health department and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services are contacting anyone who may have come into contact with the person.

Two other cases of the coronavirus, in St. Louis City and Greene County, were reported Monday in Missouri.

Eleven cases have been identified in Kansas.

On Monday, President Donald Trump urged older people to stay at home and said everyone should avoid crowds and eating out.

Nearly 4,500 people have been infected and more than 80 have died in the U.S., according to the Associated Press.
