Baby teething toy sold by Target poses choking hazard

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday the recall of 191,000 monkey-shaped squeaking teething toys sold at Target stores because they pose a choking hazard to children.

At least seven babies reportedly choked or gagged on the tail of the Go Gaga Squeeze & Teethe Coco the Monkey teething toy, according to the CPSC.

The toy, which was manufactured in China, is intended for newborn and up. It is made of soft orange rubber, measures 4.5 inches tall by 5 inches long and is marked “Infantino” on the back toward the rear with model number 206-647 stamped on the inside of the rear left leg.

Target sold the toy for $13 at stores nationwide and online between December 2012 and January 2014. Customers who bought the toy should immediately take it away from children and contact importer Infantino LLC of San Diego, Calif., for a replacement toy

Infantino can be reached toll-free at (888) 808-3111 or online at www.infantino.com.
