A luxury sustainable clothing brand is coming to the Country Club Plaza this year. It’ll be the chain’s first location in the Kansas City area.

Reformation, a women’s clothing brand that sells clothing, shoes and accessories, is slated to move into the Plaza, at 429 Nichols Road (Unit Q-415), according to Anne-Marie Albracht, spokesperson for Reformation.

The brand was established in 2009 as a means to make sustainable fashion mainstream and makes their clothes at both a Los Angeles factory and around the world, according to its website. Reformation has since expanded to over 50 stores around the world. By 2030, it will be part of the circular fashion system, which ensures clothing stays in circulation for as long as possible.

Reformation is currently hiring for sales associates, sales supervisors and a store manager, according to the company website’s job postings. An opening date has not been set, according to Albracht, but it will be some time this fall.

Recently, the Plaza’s public relations team released its Plaza Promise campaign, a “multi-year commitment” to the city with six components. Separately, the shopping district is seeking several millions of dollars in tax incentives to make improvements to the aging district.

This opening follows several other announcements this year in an effort to revitalize the historic shopping district, including Mersea, Veronica Beard, Evereve and Love Shack Fancy.

Two years ago, Dallas-based HP Village Partners purchased the Plaza for $175 million. The owners later changed the company name to Gillon Property Group.
