A new Chick-fil-A will open in Lee’s Summit on Thursday, according to a company news release.

The new location, 1001 SW Jefferson St., will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and offer various dining options including drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery and a drive-thru lane for mobile orders, according to the release.

Chick-fil-A is a fast food franchise that has served chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, salads, fries, ice cream and drinks since it was founded in Atlanta in 1967. Since then, it has expanded to over 3,000 locations across 48 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, according to the Chick-fil-A website. This opening will be Kansas City’s 11th location.

Lance Spencer, a Kansas City native, will be the local owner-operator of Chick-fil-A Oldham Village, according to the release. This will be his second restaurant in the area.

“Opening a second restaurant in Lee’s Summit is a humbling milestone for me and my team,” Spencer said in the release. “This community has embraced us from the start, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue serving, mentoring and creating a positive impact, one meal and one relationship at a time.”

Chick-fil-A will be celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts in Kansas City, according to the release, and will be participating in the company’s Shared Table program, which directs surplus food to local nonprofits.
