A Crossroads staple for artists is shuttering their doors.

Artist & Craftsman Supply announced their closure in an Instagram post Saturday. The shop, located at 229 Southwest Boulevard, has been open in the Crossroads neighborhood for nearly 15 years and sold gifts and supplies for sculpture, painting, printmaking, drawing and more.

“We cannot thank our staff enough for their loyalty, dedication, and hard work,” the shop said in the post. “Over the coming weeks, we will be working closely with the Kansas City team to support their employment during the closing process and help transition to their next endeavors.”

The store has begun a closure sale with 30% off storewide items and 20% off clearance items.

“Your establishment has always been so much more than just an art supply store to my family,” one customer commented in the post.

“We visit on birthdays and to celebrate milestones, we pop in when we are having a rough day, and it had inspired endless amounts of art from all of us. Thank you for being such an incredible staple to our community, you will be missed so so much.”

“You all will be missed but all of the local creative types truly appreciate you serving us over the years. Thank you,” another commenter wrote.

No official closure date has been announced.

Arts & Craftsman Supply has other locations across the country, including in Madison, Wisconsin, and Louisville, Kentucky.

Arts & Craftsman Supply is currently open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
