Kansas-based Mediterranean chain to open third Johnson County location
A fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant plans to open its third Johnson County location near two other notable restaurants.
Meddys, a Wichita-based restaurant, will set up shop next to a new AC Hotel near 115th Street and Nall Avenue in Leawood.
According to a report from Colliers, a Kansas City commercial real estate firm. The Capital Grille and Yard House are expected to also be in the same parcel, taking up around 10,000 square feet and opening toward the end of 2026.
Meddys owner Alex Harb said they signed a lease for the space Wednesday, and they are expecting to open this upcoming fall.
“I’m excited for the Kansas City market; it’s been a great market for us,” he said. “The KC metro has embraced the concept of Meddys, and we are very grateful.”
Meddys serves up hummus, shawarmas, bowls, platters, salads and signature cocktails. Their menu is inspired by the cuisine in Harb’s native Lebanon.
Popular items include the Succulent Chicken Shawarma (sliced chicken breast, crispy lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and creamy garlic sauce wrapped in pita; $10.85) and the Fancy Falafels plate (five falafel patties served with salad, hummus, pita and Spanish eggplant; $12.99).
Harb originally opened Meddys in 2014 and has since expanded to 16 locations across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Kansas City has four locations: Brookside, Lenexa, Liberty and Prairie Village, according to their website.
The first spot in the Kansas City area opened in Prairie Village in 2022. Two more opened the following year.
No specific date has been announced as to when Meddys plans to open. All locations are open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
