This Price Chopper in Overland Park is closing next month. Here’s what we know
A Cosentino’s Price Chopper location in Overland Park will be closing its doors in February.
The Cosentino’s Price Chopper located at 7418 W. 119th St. near Metcalf will begin a liquidation sale on Wednesday, Jan. 28. An exact last day was not announced.
“Cosentino’s extends its sincere gratitude to the loyal customers and team members who have supported the 119th and Metcalf Ave location over the years,” John Cosentino, owner and VP of Cosentino Group Inc., said in a release. “It has been a privilege to serve the community, and the company looks forward to welcoming customers at nearby Price Chopper and Cosentino’s Market locations.”
A reason for the closure was not given, but the company said in the release that they are actively looking for a new location and that all employees will be offered positions at one of Cosentino’s other stores.
“Cosentino’s values the dedication and hard work of its employees and is committed to supporting them through this transition,” the company said in a release.
The company also announced intention to invest around $40 million in remodeling their stores and new buildings this year.
“For nearly 80 years, the Cosentino family has built lasting relationships with our customers, our team members, and the communities we serve,” Cosentino said in the release.
The store will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Other nearby grocery stores include a Walmart Supercenter and a Pan-Asia Supermarket on the other side of Metcalf on 119th Street. Farther down Metcalf is a Costco and a Target near the intersection at 123rd Street.
In August, a Price Chopper at 7000 W. 75th St. in Overland Park closed after three decades. The store was owned by Balls Foods Stores, which owns 13 of the 50 Price Choppers in Kansas City.
